One of my favourite singer, songwriter, pianist and composers is Jimmy Webb. He’s collaborated with incredible artists is celebrated for his lyrics which highlight the lives of ordinary people. His melodies weren’t half bad either. Check out this one he wrote for Glen Campbell – Witchita Lineman https://countryfancast.com/the-highwayman-music-video-and-lyrics/
